„The Rockbox project has released a new version of their open source firmware for the Archos Jukebox portable MP3 players. It’s pretty good, some extra features as well as being more stable than the original firmware.“

Some slightly related:
„There's an open-source OS called Rockbox that runs on the 6000 series jukeboxes -- the kind that my sister has. These guys basically reverse-engineered the jukebox, and wrote their own software for it, which kicks Archos's default ass without even trying. Rockbox is ultra-fast, it comes with all kinds of plugins (such as rotating 3d cubes, Nybbles, and the obligatory Tetris), and it comes with an SDK, so you can write your own plugins.“http://metabug.dyndns.org/mindhive/archives/ archos_gmini_220_minireview.html - Cached
