Average Customer Rating:Comment: Good MP3 Player - until it breaks! Rating:
This MP3 player is a sweet deal for less than $50. The radio works pretty good and storage with a 128 mb smart media card is over 60 songs - which is very nice. However, this product has a history of breaking. I found out the hard way that the earphone connection port has a tendency of breaking off inside the player. The problem, as several other reviewers correctly stated, is some faulty soldering. Thanks to those reviewers I was able to correct the problem with a few drops of solder, no thanks to Digitalway. I tried to contact them numerous times and received no response. I finally emailed them and told them I would never buy any one of their products again - which I won't - and of course, they haven't responded to that email either. Buyer beware, the product has a history of breaking, buy it knowing that this could happen. For $50 you probably are willing to chance it, just thought you should know before making the purchase. Good luck.
Comment: CUSTOMER SUPPORT STINKS!!! Rating:
I bought another type of player from digitalway and downloaded a firmware upgrade FROM their website which completely zapped my player. I sent it to them and they informed me they wouldn't be able to repair or replace it. Basically I was just S.O.L.
Comment: Support is Horrible, MP3 Player is not much better. Rating:
Bought this MP3 player back in July '03. After a month the ear phones stopped working. E-mailed and called company for repair and no response to e-mails and phone call to support doesn't pick up and finally disconnects. In October '03 sent e-mail threatening to notify my credit card company to contest the charge. That got their attention and they responded with an RMA number. I sent in the unit and waited a couple of months for it to be returned. No luck. E-mails again went unanswered and even the old threat of contesting the credit card didn't work. Eventually my e-mails were being rejected as "undeliverable". Basically wrote the product off with one last attempt with a letter to the BBB. One week after the letter went out by the BBB to Digitalway my MP3 player arrived in the mail. The company is basically worthless with their customer service and I won't be purchasing anything from Digitalway again.
If you have to deal with this company, be persistent and don't give up!
